Summer karate classes, sponsored by the Park and Recreation Department
Summer karate classes, sponsored by the Park and Recreation Department for Kid Kicks (ages 4,5 and 6, at 5 p.m.), Youth (ages 7-12, at 6 p.m.), and Adults (ages 13 and up, at 7 p.m.) have been slated. The classes will take place on Monday evenings beginning June 6 at Memorial Hall. Parents are encouraged by organizers to join with their children as martial art training is the fastest growing family activity in the nation.
The instructor, Doug Wilke, is a 6th degree master black belt in the style of Tang Soo Do.

In addition to the self-defense benefits, the program strives to develop each student's self-esteem, discipline, focus, and physical fitness in a safe and fun atmosphere.

The cost for the 10-week session is $45 per family, add-ons $30. Class size will be limited to ten new students.

Those seeking additional information or to register may call the Bethlehem Park and Recreation Department at 203-266-5472 or Doug Wilke at 203-266-9172 (leave message).
