Shannon “The Cannon,” Ritch in Co-Main Event against Alex Schoenauer at Sportfight 13

(KKO) - The Worldwide Fighting Championship, is pleased to announce WFC spokesman Shannon “The Cannon,” Ritch will step-in to battle Alex Schoenauer in the co- main event at Sportfight 13, Saturday October 15, at the National Western Complex.

Ritch, steps out of the WFC broadcast booth to take the fight on short notice against The Ultimate Fighter, Season I veteran Schoenauer.

Originally scheduled to fight, was Denver native Andre “The Silencer,” Walker, but had to pullout due to an unspecified injury.

Schoenauer is coming off a loss via submission at Sportfight 11, to Buck Meredith, but is best known for his appearance on Spike TV’s, reality-based television show Ultimate Fighter, where he lost to Mike Swick on the finale under card April 9, 2005.

At 144 fights, Ritch has the second most of any active professional MMA fighter. Ritch is also a PRIDE and Absolute Combat Championships veteran. Ritch’s loss to Kazushi Sakuraba was the main event of PRIDE 11, Battle of the Rising Sun October 31, 2000.
